We’re into the final two months of the regular season, in which Union Omaha has seven home matches left (compared to three away matches). Los Búhos earned six points in a week last time out, with wins over Charlotte and AV Alta, but have been off since the latter match on August 23rd. It’s a much-needed rest as they gear up for the home stretch, sitting just a point off the playoffs but with a game or two in hand over all but one of the teams above them. The Owls can pick up where they left off here against a team who visited Werner Park for the first time in late July and capitulated to the home side with a shorthanded 3-1 defeat.
ABOUT TEXOMA FC
It’s been a bit of a roller coaster for Texoma FC this season. After a rough start was ended by the franchise’s first-ever win coming at the expense of Union Omaha, they went on an eight-match unbeaten run to launch themselves as high as sixth in the USL League One table. They’ve come straight back down to earth now, though, clinging to the final playoff spot by a single point over the Owls. The underlying metrics are harsh on them too, with American Soccer Analysis slotting them at the bottom of the league, in large part due to a mere 20.65 xG (expected goals) on the season. By comparison, Union Omaha has 38.01 expected goals, second-best in the league… and in actuality, both have found the back of the net 28 times. Texoma’s attack heavily revolves around winger Philip “Ajmeer” Spengler, who has seven goals and 23 chances created on the year. There’s also a familiar face on the Texas-based outfit, with right back Will Perkins becoming a key figure for them after a short spell with the Owls in 2024.

night with a win, given that they’ll be celebrating a very important milestone for one of their players…ABOUT AV ALTA FCOne of the league’s newest clubs this year is AV Alta FC. Hailing from Lancaster, California (of the eponymous Antelope Valley), AV Alta have had a slightly up-and-down affair in their maiden voyage. However, with an average of 4,203 fans in attendance (third in the league), they’ve burst onto the scene with phenomenal support/. While the club was up in second place as recently as mid-July, AV Alta hasn’t won a league match since a July 5th win out west over Union Omaha, powered by a goal from former Owl Luca Mastrantonio. (They did defeat USL Championship team Monterey Bay FC in their final USL Jagermeister Cup group stage match, but that still leaves them without a win in all competitions in a month’s span.) Key players for the California club include top scorer Eduardo Blancas, who’s found the back of the net seven times, and the pair of Jerry Desdunes and Walmer Martinez who each have seven goal contributions on the year. DION ACOFF’S 100TH MATCHOnly two players have hit 100 appearances in Union Omaha history: Rashid Nuhu and J.P Scearce. With his appearance tonight, Dion Acoff will become the third. Acoff joined the club in February 2022, immediately writing his name into UO lore through his exploits in the club’s historic, giant-slaying run to the quarterfinals of the 2022 U.S. Open Cup. His cool demeanor and blistering pace down the wing have served him well throughout his tenure, as he’s totaled six goals and eight assists in his time as an Owl. WILD KINGDOM NIGHTTonight is Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom Night! We’ve got a whole bevy of activities available to you, so look out for t-shirt tosses, animal trivia, and more. Plus, we’ll have some local wildlife organizations here with live animals! If you want to meet owls, hedgehogs, and even a gator, then you’ll never find a better chance than this.TEXT TICKETINGWe are trialing a text ticketing system in lieu of printing out match tickets.
