OMAHA, Neb. (Nov. 4, 2026) — Union Omaha has extended Sporting Director Jamie Henderson to an additional two years with the club, with an option for the 2029 season. Henderson will continue to oversee all sporting operations for the club, including personnel management and scouting.
“We are thrilled to announce Jamie’s extension as Sporting Director for Union Omaha,” said Chief Operating Officer Alexis Boulos. “He has been an amazing addition to the club, and we couldn’t be more excited for the future of this organization on and off the pitch. Jamie leads with integrity and enthusiasm, and brings a daily commitment to competitive excellence and community connection that speaks to the mission of Union Omaha. We are proud to have Jamie on the team, and the best is yet to come!”
Henderson was named the club’s first ever sporting director in August 2025. In that time, he has constructed and developed a roster that has kept the Owls at the forefront of USL League One. Henderson, an alumnus of Bellevue University, has also enhanced the club’s connection to the city through its personnel, through acquisitions like Ralston’s Diego Gutiérrez and Creighton alum Younes Boudadi as well as the re-signing of Council Bluffs native Cole Jensen, who recently earned the 2026 USL League One Golden Glove Award.
“I am incredibly proud to extend my contract with Union Omaha and would like to thank the club for the continued trust and belief in me. It’s a privilege to represent this club and be part of something that means so much to the city and its supporters,” said Henderson.
“I remain fully committed to building on the foundations we’ve established, continuing to develop a competitive team on the field while strengthening our connections in the community off it. There is so much to be excited about and so much more that we want to achieve, and I’m excited to continue playing a part in taking Union Omaha forward.”
Henderson joined Union Omaha after nearly six years working as an international scout for Atlanta United FC of MLS. His duties ranged from scouting transfer targets to upcoming opposition for the club, as well as monitoring the club’s own academy products as they developed as players. Prior to his time in Atlanta, Henderson had coaching and development roles at Bellevue West High School and Papillion Soccer Club, respectively, while also working with Hudl to implement their video analysis software across the country.
